The Calla Candlestick
The Calla Candlestick | Cast Bronze and Silver
Nature, immortalized. The Calla Candlestick captures the fluid elegance of a lily in bloom. Designed by Peter Fossick, this piece translates the ephemeral curve of a flower stem into a permanent object of hand-cast bronze and silver.
Product Description
The Calla Candlestick is a study in organic modernism. Drawing inspiration from the sleek, trumpet-shaped silhouette of the Calla Lily, the design rejects rigid straight lines in favor of a sensuous, growing curve. The arm rises from a grounded base, twisting gently to cradle the flame in a deliberate, protective gesture.
Cast from solid bronze by master craftsmen, each piece is finished to a high-gloss luster that radiates a deep, golden warmth. Unlike a fresh flower, this piece is built for permanence; the surface is designed to develop a rich, complex patina over decades, becoming more beautiful with age.
A Material Duet The warm boldness of the bronze body is elegantly contrasted by the cool gleam of the silver candle cup. The heavy, circular plinth provides visual weight and stability, grounding the upward momentum of the stem—a signature of Fossick’s ability to balance lightness of form with the density of material.
Atmospheric Sculpture The Calla is designed to stand alone as a sculptural statement or in pairs to create a garden of light across a dining table. It does not just hold a candle; it appears to grow towards the light, turning a simple dinner setting into a scene of natural wonder.

Why We Love It
"The Calla Candlestick manages to capture the exact moment a flower turns its head toward the sun. It looks incredibly delicate—like a line drawing in gold—but when you hold it, the heavy bronze reminds you of its enduring craftsmanship. It creates a seamless transition from the table to the flame."
