The 'Snow White' Dressing Table
The 'Snow White' Dressing Table | Figured Walnut & Hand-Forged Steel
A fairytale brought to life in steel and timber. Designed by Peter Fossick, the 'Snow White' Dressing Table is a masterwork of narrative design. It captures the tension between delicate beauty and organic strength, trapping a surface of exquisite figured walnut within a cage of hand-forged, thorn-like steel.
Product Description
Gothic Art Nouveau Reimagined While the Strathmore is about discipline, the 'Snow White' is about wildness. This piece evokes the dark romance of a Brothers Grimm tale, blurring the line between furniture and sculpture. The silhouette is defined by its "briar" framework—hand-forged steel that mimics the chaotic, climbing growth of vines, culminating in sharp, stylized thorns that seem to protect the piece.
A Study in Entrapment The narrative of the piece is the struggle between the hard and the soft. The demi-lune (half-moon) tabletop features a stunning display of Book-Matched Figured Walnut, selected for its intense, cloud-like grain patterns. This warm, organic wooden heart appears to be "caught" in the grasp of the blackened steel skeleton, creating a dramatic visual contrast that commands attention.
The Floating Portal Rising from the tangle of iron is the oval mirror. Framed in matching walnut, it appears suspended in mid-air, cradled by the steel tendrils. The mirror acts as the focal point, drawing the eye upward and completing the vanity’s imposing vertical profile.
Functional Sculpture Despite its theatrical appearance, this is a fully functional dressing table. The wide surface offers ample space for daily rituals, while the durable steel structure ensures the piece remains as permanent as it is beautiful. It is designed to stand against a wall, transforming any alcove or bedroom into a stage set.

Why We Love It
"This piece has a 'wicked queen' energy that is absolutely captivating. It feels dangerous yet elegant—like a rose with thorns. Pete as managed to make heavy steel look like it is growing organically out of the floor. It’s the perfect vanity for someone who wants their home to feel like a storybook."
